So, who's going to this BFS open evening in York this Saturday? Details as follows from the BFS forum: >>Saturday 30th at York Brewery. 7.30 start. World Fantasy Award winner, Rob Shearman, will be there to read from his superb new collection, "Love Songs for the Shy and Cynical". There will be a £1 charge to get in (to cover the room hire charge) but if you buy Rob's book you'll get that back...<< Sounds good. I hope to be there - not sure until the day itself. I know Zed said he was going. Ally? Are you going? Anyone else I should watch out for if I get there? If anyone who hasn't seen me before is looking for me, watch out for the shy, plump, middle-aged lady who looks like she reads Catherine Cookson rather than Ramsey Campbell!  | ||

Aw, shame you can't make it Steve (but enjoy your school reunion anyway  ), and I certainly hope to see Ally and Zed in York on Saturday. Still not sure if I can make it - bit of a flare up with pain and exhaustion at the moment. If I do go, I'll be there early and leaving early, so if you guys are late I might miss you anyway.  | ||

I know what you mean, Simon. In fact, I don't have so much trouble finding it - but I just can't find my way back out again! Every time I've been there, I've got lost coming back out of York.  | ||

Me? I haven't got there this evening. Decided it wasn't sensible in my current condition. And the weather's putting me off too - no snow yet, but it's so darned cold. I just didn't fancy going out in it. So, they'll all be huddled round the big open fire in York Brewery as I type this. Hope you all have a great evening, folks. | ||

I had a great time last night. I haven't laughed so much for ages. Caught up with Zed, Simon Bestwick, John Travis, Lee Harris, Simon Clark, Mark Morris, and Rob Shearman. Enjoyed an excellent reading from Rob, and as usual with the York Brewery, it was a memorable night :>) | ||
