Just a quick note to say sorry that Cathy and I will NOT be able to attend the BFS Christmas do in London tomorrow night. Circumstances beyond our control are now preventing this. I'm sure it won't be the end of the world for folks, but that means there'll be no copies of my new Christmas novella, SPARROWHAWK, there either (as I was supposed to be bringing them). However, I will be taking some to the Manchester party on Sunday night, and if anyone can't get to that and still wants one, you can order either direct from Pendragon Press (http://www.pendragonpress.net/books/sparrowhawk-by-paul-finch/) or from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-key words=Sparrowhawk+Paul+Finch&x=14&y=21) and still get it in time for Christmas. Again, sorry to all those friends I was hoping to hook up with. There'll be more chances in the near future, I'm sure.

I was hoping to get to the Manchester open night on Sunday myself, but that isn't going to happen now with the weather the way it is. My car's stuck in a snow drift at the bottom of the drive! No way would I try to drive over the Pennines in this weather.

Hope anyone who's going to either of these events enjoys themselves. Maybe if they do another Manchester one in the spring, I might be able to get there ..

I'm not going, either.

Nor am I going to the Manchster one, because it's on a Sunday (What a stupid day to have it on. Who had that bright idea?).

Here we go Weber - here's a link:
http://www.britishfantasysociety.org/index.php/events-list/open-nights/969-chris tmas-open-nights

It's in the Lass O'Gowrie pub. It doesn't say what time, but I believe it's from 6pm onwards.

Zed - I think Sunday was the only day David Howe could get when he was booking it. I guess if they book more in advance for the next one, they'll be able to get it on a better day.

Paul - I've already got Sparrowhawk thanks to your super-efficient publisher sending me my pre-ordered copy!

And yes, who on earth thinks we can get to things on a Sunday?
