Today's leading Google headline is 'Katie and Peter to split'. Friday's was 'Pope leaves Vatican for Jordan'. |

Talking about reality TV, I had a letter printed on the ITV teletext letters page yesterday which went something like this. Saying that Big Brother is the best reality TV show is like saying that cat poo is the best smelling type of pet poo. I thought it was funny anyway |

I really must be an idiot today, Joel... because I simply don't get the joke.... Damn this wide-edged pond that separates us from our ability to equally recognize and respond to humorous quips - damn it, I say! |

Katie Price = big lipped and big breasted bimbo also known as Jordan. A despicable blight on the culture of this fair land. The type of culture we expect to see in a petri dish. |

Further explanation if necessary, katie Price/Jordan is married and apparently soon to divorce a one hit wonder fame hungry wannabe called peter andre. Some people seem to think that this is in some way important news. |

Thanks for clearing that up, Weber. Now it's somewhat humorous. The Pope needs his own reality TV show. It could be called "Popery" - as in a homonymous pun on "potpourri"? - you know, assorted this-n-thats? - eh, fuck it. |

To be precise, Katie Price is the real name of the model known as Jordan. Katie Price has authored two books and gives articulate interviews on the problems of caring for her disabled son. Jordan engages in celebrity catfights and poses for topless photos in tabloid papers and men's lifestyle magazines. It's like a superhero but in reverse: a split personality, one fairly normal and one dramatically rubbish. Also, pouring scorn on Katie is all very well, but compared to her (soon to be ex-) husband she's an intellectual heavyweight. I mean it. |

I said 'authored', not 'written'. They were authored by Katie Price, but I don't know who wrote them. I would assume they were written up by a journalist from interview tapes, like most such autobiographies. |

>>Katie Price is the real name of the model known as Jordan. Katie Price has authored two books and gives articulate interviews on the problems of caring for her disabled son.<< With respect, I think your being a bit too charitable there, Joel. The way I see it, she's the same self-aggrandising glamour model (not model; there is a difference), who uses her son's disability to gain points in the gutter press when it suits her agenda. I don't think she speaks well on any topic - and I've seen a lot of her as unfortunately my wife is obsessed with this kind of crap (which leads to huge fights between us). Craig - Jordan is famous for getting her clunge out in nightclub doorways. What more needs to be said? |

Zed, being tolerant of various idiots helps me to feel better about myself. Plus, I don't actually feel contempt for anyone except company directors, Daily Mail journalists, management consultants, yuppies and bankers. I have zero interest in reality TV 'celebrities', but when it comes to provoking my rage and disgust they're barely in the queue. |

Seriously, though: I hear you, brother. let's save our rage for those who truly deserve it. Mark - top TV, isn't it? The "Bus wankers!" episode had me almost weeping with laughter. I'm dying to shout it out of my car window. |
