Has it really been two years since this magazine was last out? Is it ok?

The All Hallows message board on Yahoo is still kicking - in fact going like a chippie. Ash-Tree Press still do lots of books. They'll be launching multiple new titles at World Horror in Brighton. But ALL HALLOWS might now be on its last legs. I'm not sure why, but you're right - it hasn't been published for some considerable time.

I hope it's only delayed. It was changed from a thrice yearly to annual format, so that probably makes the delay seem longer still. I hope it will return - for years it has been one of the very best journals we have in this field of ours.

Of course, the delay means that they will have to update the news section – for all I've know, they've already done so without publication. The reviews section, always my favourite part, will be out of date but still quite valid. Maybe there'll be a big farewell issue after a few years of silence, as with the beloved Nyctalops of bygone times.

Basically, ALL HALLOWS has been resting, mainly due to time constraints brought on by health issues within the family, the effort to keep Ash-Tree Press going, my full-time employment outside the house, and my own writing. Christopher's heart attack last year caused a lot of things to just stop for a while, and since then I've been trying to juggle so many things that I've had no time or energy left for AH, which takes a massive amount of time and effort to put together, all of which is done as a labour of love.

Over the next four months I have several stories and one large article to write, as well as six Ash-Tree books that I need to proof, in addition to my full-time job. I will, however, be trying to fit the next issue of AH in there, even if it does contain some rather out of date reviews and will be heavy on fiction. Thanks, everyone, for your patience; AH is not dead, just resting.

Look, if Barbara hadn't nailed All Hallows down, it would have muscled up them little bars, bent them apart with its tiny beak, and voom!

AH is not dead, it's pining for the fjords.

I think that it's gone.
