Is it? It feels like it.

Look at history. I'm afraid it's nothing like.

Or to put it a bit more positively: there have been many worse years, and humanity survived.

Taking Murray's Wimbledon exit hard, eh?

I hope that's not a euphemism, John.

Maybe I should have said dreariest, listless, lifeless, drab, grey, utterly forgettable.

What about the cover art successes Tony? "Busy Blood" and the possibility of a cover for that Rhys Hughes collection?

Cheers
Terry

Personally, I've had a pretty good year. Four books published, and another on the way. My wife's been promoted at work and is up for yet another promotion. Our lad's doing well at school. My new novel is progressing. We're all fit and healthy.

In other words, life's what you make it, Tony. You have to push hard to make things better.

I think I'm talking about the world, really, the weather, the tories. As for myself, I haven't worked in a year due to a problem at my last job and leaving on bad terms. I don't feel capable of getting another job ever.

Doesn't help that the lads' bikes got nicked again yesterday.

Starting on that cover this week Terry - been reading the book. Might paint this time.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way –"

Des, I used the same quote in a blog I posted at work last week under a professional pseudonym – it was about how what is good or bad news depends on who is speaking and who they are speaking to! Most notably Andrew Lansley saying to GPs that the recent fall in GP referral rates is a positive achievement, and then saying to the media two days later that rationing of healthcare is "totally unacceptable". Er, it's the same thing, and he knows it.

Tony, you need to treat life a little bit more like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAJHlGm2cA4

Thanks, Joel. It was recited in full last night by one of the Housemates on Big Brother 2012.

Tony, your problem is, you still need to kick your shoes off, and start writing your way to that six-figure income: http://www.awaionline.com/p/tbw/

(that link may need to be repositioned to the "Amazing Rubbish" thread)

Looking forward to that cover Tony. Sorry to hear about your setbacks. Life can kick you in the teeth sometimes. You're a talented man, and a nice fella. Remember you're among friends here.

Cheers
Terry
