Probably just me (and maybe Des?) - Adams is Radio 3's Composer of the Week next week, plus he's conducting his opera Nixon in China at the proms a week today.

Heard the first COMPOSER OF THE WEEK programme today. Good to hear a part of Shaker Loops again - and the "bringing of the elegiac to Nevada" in Naive and Sentimental Music (new to me)...

Sounds good - I'll be recording all the programmes to listen to at my leisure. Shaker Loops is a real favourite, as is Grand Pianola Music, which I'm hoping they'll include this week at some point.

Today's ON THE TRANSMIGRATION OF SOULS (new to me) is truly wonderful - for recurrent repetitive speaking voices, chorus and orchestra.
hypnotic like Steve Reich's DESERT MUSIC.

DESERT MUSIC is wonderful - I've never heard ON THE TRANSMIGRATION OF SOULS so I'm looking forward to that. Thanks for the updates so far, Des!

I saw DESERT MUSIC performed at the proms in the 1980s. :-)
