A woman was saved from burning to death by trick or treaters over here. They sort of acted as a kind of free neighbourhood watch. I bet there are less burglaries on Halloween, too. I like it. How often to you get to meet the people in your community? And how exciting must it be roaming the streets at night dressed like a monster? And at least, unlike bonfire night, which is celebrating someone's death, less animals get terrified and people get less annoyed by five days of explosives going off... |

I think if I were in America I'd hate Hallowe'en too, because it's so over-done, pushed by capitalism to excess and made corporate and mandatory until the charm is gone from it. It's getting a bit like that over here, but less so I think. |
