Bit annoying that the article says "A fifth series of the show is scheduled for 2010."
Fifth? Did I imagine all those other series then?

Now Tennant's resigned. This is madness! What would happen if everyone quit their jobs simultaneously?

I'm devastated, too. I haven't been this perturbed this I last got my foot caught in the bed sheets and had to wrestle for seconds to get it free. Tragic.

Jared Leto meanwhile, whether you hate 30 Seconds To Mars or not, seems to be artfully navigating both a successful film career and rock stardom.

Only Waits impresses me as a bonafide actor and a genius musician.

I was more excited by the prospect of him leaving than I was by the news that he wasn't.

But they won't bring anyone challenging to the series.

I think Ursula K Le Guin said it best...

"and when we were in England about two centuries ago we got hooked on Dr Who - the guy with the long scarf and the great nose, not the one after him who looked like he needed some vitamins."

No time for me mucking about in the living room, Jonathan, I've been mucking about on the radio. I and my daughter have pre-recorded something for Dearn FM for Halloween. I managed to talk a little about the history of supernatural and horror. Apart from myself, got Charles Dickens, Emily Bronte, Ramsey, Gary McMahon and John Travis in there!

YOU CAN'T HAVE A WOMAN AS DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!!

How could he change sex? It would make things a bit difficult in time lord relationships if when you got home your missus was now a big burly bloke. You leave the house and she's a beautiful blond with cracking pair of knockers. She slips in the shower while you're out and regenerates - then you need to watch out not to bend down in the shower.

It can't and shouldn't happen.

If it does I ain't ever watching again.

I have been watching "Dr Who" on Italian telly. I missed some episodes before I became aware it was to my liking. I caught up with them when it was rebooted. Thus far, I've seen Doctor Who as played by John Eccleston, Dave Tennant and Matt Smith. I don't know before the Eccleston character (and I don't really care) but I do wonder whether there is any going-on in UK with some different players following M.Smith's track.

Smith's last episode airs on the 50th anniversary of the show in November this year. He'll be replaced by Peter Capaldi which could be really interesting.

(It was Christopher Ecclestone by the way not John)

My favourite doc is still Tom Baker. although Matt Smith is pretty close to that standard IMHO

Ah, yes, Chris Eccleston! Thank you. For some reason, I find him the less convincing in the threesome. Maybe because looking more aged than Tennant and Smith? I had a bad mood at the latter's first apparition, whereas later I even found him, with his schizoid manners and physical looks, more akin to a mental Dr Who's model I had been picturing in my mind.

If you thought he looked too old you won't like the new choice. He's the same age as william hartnell was when the show first started 1953.
