I just left my house for a couple of hours and when I got back I realised I hadn't locked the front door! It's a big old draughty house, so I'm trying to reassure myself that the noises are "just the wind" or even "the house settling". One of those old slasher film tropes anyway. It's not doing much to calm my nerves. It's going to be one of those barricade-the-front-door-and-sleep-with-the-lights-on nights. I can tell. | ||

Interesting story idea coming to me... a purveyor in the sado-masochisitic arts is hired for some kind of highly controversial shoot - insert lots of dire "uh-oh" set-up, ala King's 1408 - goes there to do the job... but it's been mysteriously cancelled. She comes home... to find her door unlocked... on a lonely, windy, eerie-sounds-filled night... phone-lines cut... all her clothes burned in a pile (i.e., forced to stay in the costume she wore to the job)... runs to the door - now barricaded - she's trapped... it's easy to fill in the "etcetera".... | ||

All the knives have been discarded... anything that could be used as a weapon... she finds bullwhips, cat-o-nine-tails, laying about... ... but what about the Barbie Dolls that she finds laying about?... one after another... first they were in traditional S&M garb... then sans clothing, bearing various ugly mutilations... then there were Barbies body-masking-taped, totally bound to the neck - those heads with their idiot grins, hair flowing free... and now she finds one, lacking a head....
