See PS Publishing 'forthcoming' list. That and a new Terry Lamsley novella just snuck into the list yesterday, leading to dropped jaws that registered on the Richter scale. SPOOK CITY is a project so cool I don't know where to start. Amazing. Ramsey, please tell us more!

Whoa, well spotted, Joel! It sounds interesting - anybody have any guesses as to the contents? Between them, these three writers (especially Ramsey, I think) have given us so many superb stories conveying urban terror, it'll be hard to choose which ones to include. I've never been to Liverpool, but after reading RC and Clive Barker (I'm not as familiar with Peter Atkins) I almost feel that I have.

Sounds interesting...reprints or original fiction?

Joel, when is your PS novella due out? My wife can't wait to read it!

I knew about the Lamsley (though I was sworn to secrecy) but not the rest. Cool!

Zed – it's pretty soon, but I don't have a definite date yet. Probably somewhere between my next haircut and my next but three.

(Shallow, moi?)

Joel, I'm weeing my pants in anticipation. Ditto regarding Quentin Crisp's THE SHRIKE.

I am holding back my Order for SPOOK CITY until I get more details. Will Ramsey's tales be new titles or reprints I can find in different books stored in my library?
I resent buying the same titles multiple times.

...of course I should have written "...or reprints of tales I can already find..."
I am a perfectionist of syntactics. Just a neurotic symptom. Sorry!

The Lamsley's a nice surprise! Be interested to see the content of SPOOK CITY nearer release date too.

Spook City makes me curious but like others here, I will wait for the sales blurb.
For me the nicest surprise however is the new Lamsley novella, as new Lamsley books are pretty rare.

I believe Spook City should have new work as well as reprints from all three main writers. I've contributed a new 13,000 word piece, "Coming to Liverpool", which is a companion essay to my introduction to The Face That Must Die. It mostly uses my parents' own words from their surviving correspondence, much of it before their marriage, and from other later documents. If you like (and I do), it gives them a voice. Researching it taught me quite a lot I didn't know.

I'd like to visit Liverpool sometime. Gawd knows whether it'll ever happen, though. Those tunnels and cellars under the erstwhile(?) Rumford Place sound like fun.

I just wanted to bring this thread back to prove Mick was a liar about not knowing about the Lamsley novella.

D'oh! Completely forgotten about this thread - and about the Lamsley too, obviously! Shoulda known Simon would be on the ball, as I've so far managed to track down every (I hope) Lamsley story out there, and Simon's the one who produced the exhaustive bibliography.

Well, in fairness, Locus did most of the work. All I did was copy it and mess with the formatting... and I suppose add the descriptions and comments.

===============

I've just completed a review of SHRIKE started here http://nullimmortalis.wordpress.com/2012/02/03/shrike-quentin-s-crisp/ and finished here http://zencore2007.wordpress.com/111-2/

Contains the first recorded use of the word 'Aickmania' in the comment today on the second link above.

Maybe not the first recorded use as someone may have used it before on Googlegroups.

Did anyone read Spook City, by the way? I'd be interested to hear what folk made of "Coming to Liverpool".

I originally skimmed this thread and thought the book only had reprints. Now I realise I'm wrong I shall pick up a copy.
