I'm absolutely delighted to announce that my next collection, "Pieces of Midnight", will be published by Ash Tree Press.

The book will consist of 17 supernatural stories, some new and some original, with each tale using traditional techniques of the weird tale to hopefully examine modern themes and concerns. This book has been five years in the making, and I can't wait to see it unleashed on an unsuspecting readership.

Sounds great, Gary - congratulations! I will definitely be getting a copy.

Ash-Tree always do a magnificent job with their books. I am very eager to see their forthcoming Lafcadio Hearn and Lisa Tuttle volumes.

Thanks again, you lot.

Des, there is no such thing as real time. Only one unreal time nested within an infinity of other unreal times, with no end and no beginning, collapsing and merging in the darkness and the annihilating chill of absolute zero. Just the place for a review.

It seems I'm cyber-stalking Zed, congratulating him for Pieces of Midnight on a myriad of sites.

Had enough yet, Gary? Wait, what am I saying? You're a writer, so there's no way you can get sick of praise.

This is fantastic news. I'm really looking forward to this book. Well done, sir.

Speaking of Bare Bone #11... Mr. Fry has a tale in it, as well. So does Mark. I've one, too, but don't let that dissuade you, because the incomparable Steve Rasnic Tem has a tale in this issue!

And I read Michael's story last night as well, really enjoyed that one too. Nice writing in it and an immediate honest voice. Gary's tale I've read before, in draft form, but that didn't stop me enjoying again. One of his think pieces being proved out in a wry tale. My piece is actually autobiography; only the names of the protagonists have been changed. And they're a couple of years younger than me and my pal would have been... Haven't read SRT's piece yet.

But this's Zed's smiley biggin' up thread, so once again: congrats on the collection, fella. The Ash-Tree books have to be among the (if not THE) finest and most consistently well produced smaller press publications around.

Publication date will be late this year. I can't wait!

Mark - glad you enjoyed "Punch-Drunk". That one's a very angry story from about 4 years ago. re-reading it, I was quite disturbed by my owm imagery! Your tale in the issue is my favourite Lynch piece.

I got a bootleg of the Harm, and it was just a load of nonsensical north-eastern rambling. No, hang on, that was a genuine copy.

Has anyone heard of Brutalist architecture before? I hadn't heard of it, until I read this book. And I was looking into it on the internet yesterday and, incredibly, last night, on the TV documentary about the Home Office, they showed what they called some 'brutalist architecture'!
