Just seen a posting on the BFS forum which says that the Sept issue of Paranormal Magazine comes with a free DVD of "The Nameless". The person posting on the forum also says there's a nice article in there on burial mounds, which should provoke a few story ideas! |

Sure about this? There's no mention on the magazine's website... |

Well, I got the info second-hand from someone else on the BFS forum, and now they've put it on their website as news too. But I've not seen a copy myself so I don't know. I assumed the person who first posted it there actually had a copy - but I can't be sure. Sorry if I've misled people! |

Reading the title of this thread I presumed Ramsey had made the ultimate publicity-seeking sacrifice. Bold move it would have been. |

A story, Tony, about a guy who goes to buy a book by a certain author. They're all out of stock, but if he's interested, "The author's available." He's been marked down 75%. The guy purchases the author and takes him home. He writes various middling things, all rubbish. He tries to return him, but they won't take him back. He tries off-loading the author at his next garage sale, but people try to haggle him down from 50¢. He ends up tossing him behind a bookshelf, vowing someday to try him out again. This is going nowhere.... |

Well, I must say it took you guys a good few days from my original post to get my little "joke" in the title of the thread. You're quick, you lot! Your story, Craig, reminds me of the story "The Man Who Collected Poe" in one of the Amicus portmanteau films (it's too late at night, and I'm too tired to check which one - but I bet I know someone here who could tell us off the top of his head!). But, seriously, my second-hand source said that it was a DVD of "The Nameless" they were giving away - not Ramsey himself - though Mark's post rather casts doubt on whether they were, indeed, giving away a free DVD .. |

It could be that he's made a great sacrice, chopped off an extraneous limb - possibly a leg - had the flesh cooked, sliced, freeze packed and sent out with every book - a sort of Meat the Author type deal... |

Or, in paranormal terms, that every copy of the magazine has a ka or astral body of Ramsey within its envelope. |

No, Ramsey has a Focus not a Ka |

Besides, even if he did have a ford Ka, it would be difficult to fit it in the envelope. And if you did, how would you post it, it would cost a fortune. You'd be better off putting the envelope in the Ka and driving it to the recipient |

Would that be a monthly or a wheatley edition of the magazine? |

OK, it looks like I've given you false information anyway. Someone on the BFS forum now has said they've seen a copy of Paranormal Magazine and it doesn't have a free DVD with it. So, sorry folks, I seem to have misled you. No DVD, and no bits of Ramsey or his car being given away free with this magazine. |

Erm, to contradict the post above, I picked this up on Thursday and there was most definitely a copy of The Nameless enclosed. Haven't watched it yet. The copy behind the one I bought seemed to have a different DVD included, so it looks like they've got a couple of different movies on promo. |

Hi John - glad you managed to find one. I think from the post on the BFS forum (where I originally saw this) it now seems that it's a promotion in Borders only. Did you find yours in Borders? If so, that will explain it. |
