Ack! Just got this for a pound from a market in St Helens. Watched a few minutes and think it might be one of the most beautiful, eerie horrors I've seen. Is this right? Does it progress this way? Also got The Crazies for a pound. Not seen it since the seventies. Isn't it great? I think it might be Romero's best. Such brittle, Loachian direction. Wonderful. |

If it's the Shockwaves I remember, I saw an ad for it in a film magazine back in the late 70s (Starburst, perhaps) and it really freaked me out - the Nazi's, holding the boat. I didn't see it until the late 80s and, whilst it was slow (as I remember), it was very eerie. And for a quid, well, you can't go wrong, can you? |

This stall had loads, but as I'd already bought ten dvds this week from Morrisons (Squid and the Whale, Barton Fink, Adaptation etc - all a quid!) I had to hold back. Should have got Horror Express, though - regret not nabbing that one. Yeah, it's that Shockwaves. Nothing to do with hair gel. |

I wouldn't have a lot of use for hair gel. I enjoyed the film, Peter Cushing was (as usual) very good and the zombies themselves are quite worrying. I think Brooke Adams was in it too. I had a crush on her at the time. |
