Because I have too much time on my hands...

1 – Which film written by Ian McEwan features 3 of the Culkin siblings? Bonus points for naming the siblings…

2 – A point for every reason why the middle sibling in the film should never act again.

3 – Which actor links The Two Towers, Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Blue Velvet?

4 – What links the films Star wars – Revenge of the Sith, Deep Blue Sea and Goodfellas?

5 – Which massive film is based on a novel by Roderick Thorpe?

6 – Why were only 3 out of the four members of Spinal Tap listed as guest stars when they appeared on the Simpsons?

7 – Who sang the Bond theme to The world is Not Enough?

8 – What was Haneke’s second feature film?

9 – What was the first mainstream Hollywood movie where a toilet was flushed on screen?

10 – What was M Knight Shyamalan’s first feature film?

11 – What is the first martial art learned by Neo in the Matrix?

I can honestly say I know none of the answers to the above questions. ( And I left school at 16, so should know an awful lot of them!)

Was number 9 Hostel, or is that just wishful thinking? That's where such excrement belongs and the fate that should become it, in my view.

Oh bugger... M. Knight Shyamalan didn't even direct The Remains of the day. What an expert I am...

Oops. I misnumbered. I forgot number 9.

The real numbering after 8 is as follows:

9. Psycho
10. Praying with Anger
11. Punching people in slow motion

Apologies all around.

Ah, thanks? I only knew a couple of answers. I looked up the rest -- the rest of the ones I correctly answered, that is. (I'm bored at work today.)

Did I win something?

I saw the trailer for Hostel 2 - wouldn't want to watch the film.

Hostel was good! Better than Wolf Creek, which just sickens me and nothing else (nice photography, though).
Psycho had the loo flush.
One of Spinal Tap was already a Simpsons voicee.

I love both the Hostel films. They're actually quite clever - more than they're given credit for.

Not seen the second; I was put off by the negative buzz, and cruelty to women doesn't offend me but does make me wince.
Hey - Roth is a movie star now - handsome, funny guy - in Inglorious Basterds.

Um, sheepish apology to you Zed, btw - you know what for. :-(

4 - Sam Jackson dies in all 3

Whoever said Ju Jitsu for the Matrix question - well done, almost as geeky as me.

Quinn Culkin hasn't been ion anything else and anyone who's seen the Good son will know why. She made her big brother look like an acting genius. When she was thrown in the lake I cheered. Sadly her character survived.

I loved Hostel, thought I might just have been in a good mood at the cinema, then loved it on DVD as well.

Only if your performance meets regulatory standards recently put in place by the government. These involve someone who suffers from severe myopia stepping across, squinting vaguely in your direction, nodding his or her head and thereby permitting the award. Yes, sorry it's all toughened up since last year: lessons have been learned.

"6. Because Tap member Harry Shearer is already a Simpsons cast member?"

Indeed, he plays Mr Burns, Smithers, Ned Flanders, Rev Lovejoy, Kent Brockman, Dr Hibbert, Lenny Leonard, Principal Skinner, Rainier Wolfcastle and many others.

I wonder: Do UK people know who Rush Limbaugh is?

And if so, please don't hold it against us Americans. We aren't all like that.

On a related theme - Family guy are following up Blue Harvest with an Empire Strikes Back spoof called "something something something dark side".

I'm massively excited about this mainly because I've heard they're using the giant chicken to play Boba fett - which means we're going to have chicken fight 4 happening across the Star wars universe

Yay!!!!

Wohoo!!!

I know I need to get out more.
