I'm glad George Formby was re-united with his little fishie in the end.

You should watch it as I think I glimpsed someone looking like Tubby...

I think someone's going to have to explain this thread to me - I'm utterly lost! Are you speaking in riddles?

They're all spies, Caroline. It's just a matter of time before every post consists of messages like:

'The cat is out of the pyjamas...repeat: the cat is out of the pyjamas - abort mission!'

Am I the only sane and sensible person here?

(that wasn't code, that was a sane and sensible question)

Caroline, BELL BOTTOM GEORGE was a George Formby film on BBC2 yesterday morning, full of spies, a morale-booster from the forties...
He lost his fish friend down a drain in a rainstorm ... to tell you more would be a spoiler.
This forum - Tubby Thackeray's own, as it were - seemed an apt place to make play with this film, although in 1943 it was probably after his time.

Ah, right, I'm with you now. Thanks, Des - you're a true gent for explaining it to me.

There was actually a story on the internet recently about a goldfish that was rescued from a sewage plant after someone flushed the poor thing down the loo. They've named it Pooh!

I'm nothing, if not a true gent. ;)

Please step on my coat that I've placed across a puddle.
