One of the proudest sections on my bookshelf is made up by the books of Joel Lane, viz:

The Lost District
The Witnesses Are Gone
The Terrible Changes
From Blue To Black
The Earth Wire
Private Cities

Are there any I'm missing?

Joel also has two collections of poetry:

The Edge of the Screen
Trouble in the Heartland

I'm not a big poetry man, but these are brilliant.

There's his second novel, The Blue Mask, Des, and two poetry collections, The Edge Of The Screen and Trouble In The Heartland. Not read Edge Of The Screen but the other two are both excellent.

Thanks. In some ways I'm displeased my collection isn't yet complete when I thought it was, but equally pleased that I've some I've yet to get and read.

For completists, there is also a (print-unpublished?) poem by Joel here:

I have the same ones Des listed. It's a shame that The Earth Wire is so hard to find. In over a dozen years I've only seen one copy available on ABE (which I bought, naturally). There are some great stories in it.

Some day I hope another publisher will reprint it, Huw. Still working towards that...

Des, if I can find may spare copy of that issue I'll send it you for free.

Joel - what is "Private Cities"? I've never heard of it until now.

A Lane book I don't own? Unacceptable!

'Private Cities' is not *strictly" a Joel Lane solo book. His name's on the spine with two others. It's a poetry book published by 'Stride' in 1993 featuring three poets, including Joel.
