My copy of The Influence arrived just before FCon and it's absolutely stunning. An amazing collector's piece.

Does anyone have any advice on how best to store it? I'd like to wrap it in something so it doesn't get scuffed on the shelf, but I don't know what's best.

Freshly flayed from a living victim but carefully washed so you don't stain the pages.

I find it's best to source my own locally, the stuff off ebay can dry out in transit.

And sometimes you'll get flesh with tattoos or moles off ebay. If you flay yor own you can pick and choose only the finest unblemished flesh.

Hi Kate - you won't get a sensible answer from this lot, I'm afraid!

I don't know what the cover of this particular book is (is it leather?), but I know with books which I want to keep particularly nice (I collect signed ones) there's some acid-free film you can buy to cover them. I got my last lot from a book fair though, so I can't point you towards any websites which sell it. I'm sure there will be some though, so if you google something like "bookbinding" or "book covers" you might turn something up?

However, if it is a leather cover, I'm not sure whether you can use that kind of film ...

Oh hooray for a real answer at last! Thanks, Caroline!

It's not leather, so I'll look into acid-free film.

Brodart makes perhaps the most popular line of protective jackets. They're library quality. You can buy long rolls that you trim yourself, or purchase a convenience pack that has a number of popular sizes.

The last batch I bought off Simon were just crisp packets turned inside out.

Yeah, he told me they were flavoured...

I'm a bit worried about the armadilo population since the latest batch of ribbed condoms arrived too...
