'I’m an advocate of what Douglas Winter famously said, that horror is simply an emotion
rather than a genre, and can exist in any kind of story...'

I liked the interview - and anyone who grew up reading The Three Investigators can't be bad.

Steve - just e-mailed you, governor. And yes, nice interview, also e-mailed you about that, too.

Ally - Finally saw you in the photographic flesh, so to speak, on the Estronomicon website. The only thing missing from that picture is me holding your hand and whispering compliments of respect and adoration (:

Ally - I'm going to superimpose myself into the photo and show my friends that I'm really really close to a BFS winner.

@ Frank. If Caroline reads your replies, you're dead meat, mush.

Having read 'With Black Foreboding Eyed' in Estronomicon:

http://issuu.com/screamingdreams/docs/estronomiconchristmas2008?mode=embed&docum entId=090203180504-2c161608bd3c4c30834f8db175258268&layout=grey

...I'm predicting big things for Stephen B. :-)

Ps My website looks a bit rubbish for a horror writer; I'll add some blood-red fonts and 'Welcome...TO MY NIGHTMARE!!1!!'-style text.

Steve - there's absolutely nothing wrong with your website. At least you have one. Thanks for Steve's address.

Ally - I hope you are okay? Hugs and more congrats on the BFS award, just to lift those spirits higher.

Steve - Don't worry, mate, Caroline knows to take me with a pinch of salt...actually, a handful of salt...besides, Ally was always my number one.

You know, I'd better be careful because if Ewa were to read these she might not automatically see that I'm not really a flirt, but a socially retarded moron.

* Thinks: I'd better find a new person to play with if Frank is going off with Ally now *

'I'd better find a new person to play with if Frank is going off with Ally now'

God, ever since The Cat who was Hittler was optioned by Betamax Films, I've had to fight the groupies off...

Caroline - oh, crocodile tears, is it? Remember how you flirted, outrageously might I add, with Weber? How you informed me years into our 'relationship' that you had someone to make you a cupper in bed in the mornings...i.e, the husband you conveniently forgot to mention? Or how you had this alternative life in the Small Press? It was as if I'd never really known the 'real' Caroline. Well, Ally's never lied to me, never deceived me, and...she's a BFS winner...so, I think it's time you went and took stock of what it is you want.

'Steve - it's just a burden you'll have to carry from now on, mate.'

Are you referring to Caroline, or to my groupie problem?

I'll pass on the offer of advice, thank you, Mr Hefner.

Steve - I was advising you on both, seeing as they are one and the same.

Caroline - it is a love which dare not speaketh its name (Shakespeare) Not William, but Barry Shakespeare, local mechanic down my mam's way.

D'you know, I was posting that "I still love you, Frank" jibe just at the time my hubby was arriving home from work - and I felt kind of guilty!

I can assure everyone (including my hubby and Frank's girlfriend) that I have absoultely nothing to feel guilty about.

Caroline - you shouldn't feel guilty. What you feel towards me is only natural. Don't deny what you feel, embrace it. But if your husband should find out, tell him I'm on a disability allowance and I've the mental age of a stoat.

Anyone else hearing the above spoken in the voice of Pepé le Pew?

Nope, chief, I've been busy writing a story, one which isn't set in the Victorian era(!) but in the present time(!!) I'm sure you saw the newsflash on Sky News. I sent it off to a magazine, whose staff are currently laughing at it, no doubt.

Maybe you should post about it (the meet-up) later on? :-)

Steve - mate, stop being so hard on yourself, especially as I worked long and hard to earn myself that particular, and most coveted role as personal naysayer (:

Yes, I think I will post that booze-up suggestion.

But how far can you or are you willing to travel?

'But how far can you or are you willing to travel?'

About 3 centimetres.

I dunno, mate, probably about 10-15-20-odd miles (I don't drive, you see).

Ooooo, did somebody mention a booze-up? (mine's an orange juice, by the way) Is it likely to be within travelling distance of Yorkshire? Maybe I'd best go and look ...
