I hate that! Everyone is doing it in magazines and film posters now, taking shadow from eyes. It's like they're cartoons, or dolls.

Holy human dolls! They're not real people, are they? Except for one or two of them, they can't be, surely... ?

Being in a dark house with that lot at night would scare the crap out of me! They could be in a remake of Tourist Trap.

Goodness me - I'm scared, disturbed, angry, weirded out and worried all at once. What's the point of slaving away trying to write good horror fiction when someone is effortlessly achieving the same effect with a website like that!

The is one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen... and I'm not kidding.
I'm actually shaken to my core here.

Anyone here seen 'Little Miss Sunshine'? I feel like watching it again now just to cheer myself up.

Quite frightening - moreso because it's 'normal' within the context of the site.

As for "Little Miss Sunshine", Stephen, that's not a bad idea. I feel the need to dance...

Those little girls - looking like adults pageant things? One child was murdered.

I think I saw Azathoth spinning in the center of at least one of those girls' eyes....

Ally, if you haven't seen the film 'Little Miss Sunshine' then rent the DVD.

It will give you hope for America and, by Christ, any society that encourages and accepts in any way as "normal" that kind of behaviour needs all the hope it can get!!

We started to watch a documentary about the pageants, on More4 and I switched over about 5 minutes in. These weren't little girls, at least in their parents eyes and it terrified me, as to who the competition would appeal to. Frightening stuff.

Sorry, I couldn't watch the first YouTube clip for more than a few seconds. It's revolting, obscene.

Harlan Ellison wrote an essay called 'Our Little Miss' about spectacles like this. It appears in 'The Essential Ellison'- may come originally from 'The Glass Teat'. But either way, it's worth reading. A great and still timely rant on the topic. One comment of his particularly springs to mind, re the parents of these poor kids: 'I would send them through meatgrinders with their shoes on.'

Why can't those mothers see the harm they are doing?! It completely mystifies me - they almost look possessed. How can the mothering instinct become so warped???

I'm seriously freaked out now and need to watch something good hearted and funny to restore my equilibrium.

Haven't seen it Craig.

That's by the guy who directed 'Happiness' isn't it? An exceptional movie!
