I am very pleased to report that it is planned that the ultimate all-encompassing last-bow DFL fiction collection will be published during 2010 by Ex Occidente. |

Great news, Des! When you say all-encompassing, do you mean all-inclusive (i.e,. a huge book or set of books) or just spanning the whole range of your writing career? If it's a selection, please please please don't leave out 'Entries' this time. |

That's fantastic news, Des. I look forward to it. But let's hope it's not the last, eh? You've got plenty more great stuff just crying out to be published. |

Thanks, all. I'm not sure what's going to be in it yet. Novels, novellas, series, stories?? Won't be all-inclusive, I'm sure. And I am determined it will be the last print publication of DFL fiction, even if I last another 30 years from now! (I'll be too busy with Nemonymous and real-time reviewing). |

Hurrah! (To the book but certainly not to the end of your fiction, whose demise I hope you're reporting prematurely.) |

The best news I've read today. Congratulations, Des! As you know, I consider you to be one of the most innovative and interesting horror writers of our time. I can't wait for this one. Any hints as to its title? |

Hey, I just wrote that off the cuff. It strikes me as a good working title. Please don't pinch it or tell anyone else about it. |

It has, today, suddenly occurred to me, out of nowhere, that the proposed title of my fiction collection to be published by Ex Occidente Press (Romania), may have been strangely pre-determined in some unpredictable or retro-causal way. At apparent face value, then, I have long been intrigued (without a true understanding of its historical context) by the TV pictures of Ceausescu's last appearance on a balcony, amid boos and jeers from the crowds below that shocked him into the state of a dysfunctional puppet. He was, I recall, hustled away, never to be seen in public again. The scene is mentioned here in a Google book (involving the expression 'last balcony'): http://tinyurl.com/yc2dhkh When the title ('The Last Balcony') genuinely came to my mind for the first time in October in this discussion forum: http://www.knibbworld.com/campbell-cgi/discus/show.cgi?tpc=1&post=39324#POST3932 4 it is true to say that the long-held memory of Ceausescu on his last balcony was the furthest thing from my conscious mind. |

Just written a short sonata of reality and fantasy upon 'real-time reviewing' concerning this future book entitled 'The Last Balcony': http://weirdmonger.blog-city.com/the_last_balcony_1.htm Still very excited about the prospect. And I believe there will be a PDF extract on the Ex O site very shortly. |
