I often find mention of Ramsey's story "Chucky comes to Liverpool." To anybody's knowledge, is it an already published story? Is it maybe in the "Spook City" collection? Thanks for any hint. |

No, it's not in "Spook City", at least according to the table of contents on the PS website... |

It's also the story he's reading tomorrow at GrimFest in Manchester if I remember correctly from the site? I'd never heard of it before either so I wondered where it came from too! Pity I'm not going to be able to go and hear it, but a Doctor Who convention calls me instead ... |

Sadly, I can't make it either. I'm skint and have family commitments this weekend anyway. |

Only just heard about Grimfest/Manchester. Daughter has a halloween sleepover so can't make it either. Would have been good. |

I was there and I heard the story. It's a good one. The story is one of Ramsey's psychological horror pieces and it centres round a marathon showing of all the Chucky films at a Liverpool multiplex. It seems, after the Bulger murder, that Chucky is an urban legend in Liverpool. One thirteen year old boy is determined that Chucky shouldn't be allowed to escape from his celluloid prison. It's disturbing and funny. The reading was well attended, eventually. It was a very informal hour. As from Grimm Fest. The films I saw were mediocre and were poorly attended. All it needed was more publicity. |

I don't know him, so if I did see him I apologise for not saying hello. I wasn't there long though. Just one film on Friday and one on Saturday. |

>>All it needed was more publicity.<< I think that's the key factor. I hadn't heard of it either until - I think it was you, Steven? - you mentioned it here on this board. It would have been something I'd have been interested in attending, but I already had something else arranged for that day by the time I knew about it. Hopefully, for the next one, they'll publicise it better and more people will go. If I know about it enough in advance, I'll probably try to go next year. |

I was there in the reading too, Steven- sat right in front of the landlord! Cracking story and the Q&A was hilarious. Some good films on the Sunday- saw 'Autumn' and Colin', which were both bloody impressive. Currently reading the DAVID moody novel 'Autumn' as well, which is damn good. |

Hi Simon. I think I was sitting next to you and as I'm not Jenny Campbell... I wanted to see AUTUMN but was busy yesterday doing house type stuff then out at a gig last night. I'd heard mixed things about AUTUMN (too long and unfocussed) but I'd have liked to have given it a go. |

AUTUMN was on The Horror Channel last week...I turned it off after 20 minutes. Utter rubbish, I'm afraid: terrible acting, a weak script, direction was all over the place. Moody's a decent writer, though, so I think the novel will be much better. |
