This month I will be going to see Biffy Clyro, Deep Purple, Ricky Gervase, Puressence (on the guest list for that one, not working, yipee), Lily Allen, Rise against, Motorhead, yes, alice Cooper, White Lies and the Enemy.

In December it's a bit more quiet - only Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Florence and the Machine, Madness, Monster Magnet and Placebo - and the last two there I've actually PAID for tickets.

Combine that with trying to get to the gym, swimming lessons and my Ju Jitsu twice a week, I think I'm going to need a few days off work to relax at some point.

I had a friend send me on DVD some live performances of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on American talk-shows... I like 'em....

Wish I had you're energy, and apparent enthusiasm for things... alas, of late, for me - not so much....

Yes!? Where are they? Is it Manchester? I bet I'm too late to get a ticket though.

I've had/am having a busy few weeks. Doctor Who convention last Saturday, another one tomorrow if I manage to get there (might just do a half day), various films at Leeds International Film Festival, and the Thought Bubble comics festival as part of that, all coming up over the next few weeks. Too much fun ...

Yes are at the manchester apollo near the end of the month. Jethro Tull is there in March next year. You might still have a chance for tickets. I can't see it being sold out yet.

I'm keen to go and see BabyBird next week - I'm just trying to make sure I don't have to work. I'm hoping...

Did you ever see that sketch on Anamaniacs where two of the characters are at woodstock and the conversation goes something along the lines of

Who's on stage?
Yes!
(angry)Who's on stage?
no, the Who are on later.
Who is the band on stage?
Yes
the band on that stage...
No The band aren't even playing here this year

and so on for nearly 5 minutes.

It was fantastically funny

Craig, I wish I had the energy I need for all the stuff I've got on at the moment

And I'll be going to see New Model Army play the Manchester Academy on the 28th. So I'm happy.

>>Jethro Tull is there in March next year.<<

I've already got tickets to see them in York in March next year - that's nearer for me so I've got more chance of managing to get there. But thanks for the heads up anyway.

Ooo, I dunno, I could be tempted by men in uniform. Tell me Weber, if I was to swoon at seeing my hero, Ian Anderson, live on stage, would you be the one who had to give me the kiss of life?

Probably. But I might let a colleague do it instead depending on what you look like.

The text of the abbot and Costello version...

I'd go to see Yes in Antwerp if I can, albeit they're only half a band for this tour. I can live with another keyboard player, but another singer? Yes without Jon Anderson isn't Yes. On the other hand they're doing songs from their very first album, e.g. "Astral Traveller" and I'm really rather curious about those.

So true. His vocals MADE Yes.

On stage, that is, not playing footie...

A couple of years ago when Motorhead played the Apollo, I couldn't afford to pay to get in the crowd that year like I had for the 3 previous, so I worked it with St john. The moment I wlked into the first aid room, one of the security guards was there saying that one of the roadies might need Oxygen at some point in the gig so Lemmy wanted a first aider stationed backstage for the entire show with an o2 cylinder. Luckily the cylinder is by the door and as I'd just walked in I grabbed it and said "I'll do that" before anyone else got a chance.

So I got to watch the entire gig from the side of the stage. While the support act were on (Crucified Barbara - 4 scandinavian girls in tight black leather with big guitars - there's still a drool spot on the floor where I was standing) Lemmy himself wandered over and started chatting to me! it was one of the best nights I've ever had at the Apollo.

Motorhead have the Damned as support this year, so you are for a double treat Weber!

For some reason the 'head are not coming to Norwich this year (possibly a good thing considering the poor state of my hearing!) but hopefully will be back next year.

Me, Soozy, Mick Curtis n' debbie are off to see Steve Earle tomorra!
