Now I know the above literary master is on this board nowadays, but I feel it would be unfair to ask him what I should read of his next, but I just finished reading "Stains" and thought it was very good indeed, and I want to read more of the man's stuff, but I don't know what (or, indeed, what there is of his out there).
Any recommendations?
I bought "Stains" by accident ("we've come on holiday by mistake"!) as a couple of years ago I ordered the same book from GF twice, and Gary asked if I wanted my cash back, or to try a book instead; I plumped for Mr Finch's collection, but forgot about it until recently.
Good stuff though, and highly recommended.

Typically great Finchy tale, Men of Old, in a recent anthology called Apparitions. Bunch of other great stuff in that one, too, by the likes of McMahon, Lane, Bestwick, and Duffy. Oh, the Duffy!

Mick - I can vouch for Paul giving you your money's worth with any and all of his collections. Most recentlt I've read Groaning Shadows - four novellas from Gray Friar Press, and Ghost Realm - his new collection from Ash Tree, and those are both excellent. His first Ash-Tree collection, After Shocks, is what turned me onto him in the first place and is great. Then there's Cape Wrath from Telos, Darker Ages from Sarob...

Can you tell I'm a fan?

Ok, just ordered Groaning Shadows, Cape Wrath & Ghost Realm. Mr Finch, you will be having turkey this Christmas!
Cold Tonnage doesn't currently have After Shocks in stock so I may order direct from Ash Tree.

Mr Finch appears in "We Fade To Grey" but for my money, "Cape Wrath" is probably one of the best things he's ever done.

I thought his novella in the BFS anthology, Houses on the Borderland, was superb too.

Mr Finch, sir - I don't suppose you still have a spare contributor's copy of "After Shocks" that you could sell me?
Despite what it says (or said) on Ash Tree's site, it's actually oop now, and I would like to get hold of a copy.

Sorry Mick, I only have my own. Have you tried the usual suspects - Amazon, Ebay, etc?

No problem - I'd only tried Andy Richards and he found out from Chris Roden that it's out of print. I'll take a look around...

Whoo-hoo - my copy of After Shocks arrived yesterday, bought from an American dealer via Abebooks. It's second hand but in superb condition, and including p&p cost me around £27, which is a lot less than the £45 everyone else on Abebooks is asking for it.
Hurrah for me!
