Anyone seen this new, American-based ghost-hunting show? In the UK, it screens on Thursday nights at around 10pm on Living TV.

A similar format to MOST HAUNTED, but without the numerous investigators or the general air of angst. Three youngish guys infiltrate some of 'the most evil places on Earth'. There's lots of shouting, swearing and angry exchanges with conveniently invisible entities. And of course the innumerable things that happen could easily be the result of natural phenomena or carefully rigged special effects - though one shadowy apparition that was caught on film last week was really quite eerie.

Basically a lot of fun. Worth catching, if only for the rapid tranformation of grungey street-cool to wide-eyed terror the moment something vaguely inexlicable happens.

Yep, I saw this last week - it's almost as funny as Most Haunted. I love these kinds of shows - real guilty pleasures. There's also a great one on the Bio channel about Psychic Teens that actually unnerved me.

This might be the one my hubby has watched a few times. I saw him watching it, said "Oh no, another one of those Most Haunted-type things again!" (he quite likes those occasionally for a laugh). But he reckoned it was better - not as obviously faked in the reality TV style. I'm afraid I didn't believe him enough to watch more than a couple of minutes of it.

The sad reality of these types of shows, Caroline, is that quite clearly almost nothing ever happens. Each episode runs to about 50 minutes, but you're lucky if the 'ghost action' lasts more than 10. Much of the rest is given over to back story, interviews with witnesses, summing up afterwards, etc. So I can understand your hestitation to sit down and watch.

Having been on a couple of these tpes of expeditions to haunted locations, myself, it's truly amazing how few things happen, and most of these you can quickly provide worldly explanations for.

I think they're great. The enjoyment I derive from them is watching the presenters work themsleves up into such a frenzy of fear and anticipation that a car horn honking outside sends them spinning into hysteria. It's all very entertaining, IMHO.

I also pretend it's real, and manage to give mysef a few jolts when I watch with all the lights turned out. A willing suspension of belief, and all that.

It's better than watching the soaps, anyhoot.
