I suspect this story to be an urban myth and have no doubt it will appear in the "incompetent criminals" column of the next issue of 'Fortean Times'. I mean there's idiocy and there's far-fetched idiocy! Reminds me of the guy who planned to gas himself by eating nothing but beans for a month and then locked himself in an airtight cabinet.
