Jonathan - mate, please give simple instructions to one cursed with stupidity. I can't find the info about the novel. Your novel???? How are doing, mate? Haven't spoken in a long while? Still doing stand-up alongside your more important duties?

Hi Frank

Yeah, it's not massively obvious is it? There's a downloads tab at the top of the page where you can get the latest issue. Some of the interview info is now out of date as things have changed a bit. Book was delayed just due to the sheer workload of becoming the new commissioning editor for Solaris Books and The Stainless Steel Rat graphic novel had to be dropped for legal complications. Anyway, I'm no longer involved with 2000 AD, so all that is out of my hands. For the records though, Harry Harrison is a very splendid gent and a lovely man to deal with.
My novel is called The Twilight of Kerberos: The Call of Kerberos and is rousing sword & sorcery with liberal helpings of Lovecraftian horror. Anybody who knows me well will also realise that the major themes of the novel have a lot to do with me working through the anxiety and pain the 2007 floods caused to Ali and I, and some of our subsequent concerns.
Anyway, life is now splendid and we are well settled into the new and defended home. Steel shutters for the win!
Don't do stand-up any more. Live too far from London and, on the whole, found the London comedy scene to be full of desperate back-stabbing losers who would do most anything to climb the comedy ladder. For me it was just a fun hobby. For others it was warfare.
Anyhew, hope all is well with you Frank.

Speak soon.

Best Wishes

Jon

Jon - glad you two are now fortified and snug. Great news on the book, mate. Truly. Look forward to reading it. Will go back and check out the link again.

The comedy ladder has, according to some stand-ups of yore, namely the likes of Skinner, Izzard, indeed become a festering pool of backstabbing regularity.

Ah, you met Harry Harrison. You lucky bleeder. What a star that man is. Christ, he must be getting on a bit.

Okay, pal, chat later.

Take care,

Frank

PS: I don't suppose that fella from the copy-cat Led Zeppelin from your old neighbourhood got rained out, did he?

No idea what happened to the Led Zep guy. I gather he still does his cover band thing. We no longer live in Reading. Despite the flooding Abingdon is a vast improvement on Reading which was capable of putting me into a nihilistic rage.
