Deadline 30 April 2010. http://weirdmonger.blog-city.com/null_immortalis__nemonymous_ten.htm I probably don't need any more submissions as I have many great stories already - but you never know. I've now discovered a possible meaning of 'Null Immortalis' thanks to the 'Back From The Dead' anthology, I'm currently reviewing here: http://weirdmonger.blog-city.com/back_from_the_dead.htm Man not 'back from the dead' so much as still alive ... not locked by those beach-girders under the pier, but by his own bones. - DFL |

I thought 'Null immortalis' meant 'Nothing lasts forever' – the title of the best post-reunion Echo & the Bunnymen song, perhaps their best song ever. |

Did Echo and the Bunnymen ever have to phone Virgin Media after 6pm for technical support on their broadband service? Thought not. |

On the contrary, Gary, their song is about that. If you hope for customer support from Virgin, let alone Orange, you get nothing – forever. |

I nearly saw Echo & The Bunnymen at Reading 1999...I sat down on the grass as they took the stage to enjoy their set, then promptly keeled over & fell asleep. I awoke to the cheers of the crowd as they departed the stage. Ah well, maybe next time eh? gcw |

Story of my life, GCW! My favourite falling asleep at something story was when I went to a Martin Amis reading in Leeds. He wasn't too thrillled at that one. It was during all the flack he was getting for The Information (a funnier book than it's ever been credited as being), so he probably thought it was par for the course, the way things had been going... |
