Thought some of you folks might be interested to hear that my second DR WHO audio drama, SENTINELS OF THE NEW DAWN, starring Caroline John (as Liz Shaw) has been green-lit by Big Finish and will be recorded later this year. A third is now in the pipeline, but my lips must remain sealed on that for this moment. |

Great news, mate. I'll bet your having a blast writing these, too. |

It's an awful lot of fun, Gary, for a lifelong Who fan like me. As I said before, the day I attended the recording of LEVIATHAN, my first one, with Colin Baker et al, was the best day at work I've ever spent. |

I keep meaning to pick up a few of these audios - I love listening to stories, and for some reason Dr Who seems like a perfect subject for the medium. |

Brilliant, Paul - very well done. I keep thinking I must try some of these BF audios - I haven't heard any of them yet. I tried browsing their stall at the DW con I went to yesterday, but it was so dark and crowded there that it was impossible to have a proper browse through. Must write a note to myself to browse their catalogue some time and see if anything takes my fancy. I do believe that they're going to do some of the "lost stories" which would have been done had it not been cancelled after Survival, and being a hard-core Seventh Doctor fan, that might be my best way into BF audios. |

Thanks all. Caroline, full cast audio adaptations of the 'lost stories' are now well under way. LEVIATHAN was one such. Check on the Big Finish website for up-to-the minute updates. Not sure if you'll be attending the Utopia Dr Who con in Oxfordshire later this month, but I'm on a couple of panels there and holding a workshop on how to write 'Who' for audio. If you're there, make sure you say hello. |

Very cool news indeed. I love audio dramas, they're a perfect antidote to a grueling commute ! |

>>Caroline, full cast audio adaptations of the 'lost stories' are now well under way. LEVIATHAN was one such. Check on the Big Finish website for up-to-the minute updates.<< Ah, but I'm looking for Seventh Doctor ones specifically, Paul. I can't help it - I'm a 7th Doc addict. Aren't the ones they've done so far the Sixth Doc ones? >>Not sure if you'll be attending the Utopia Dr Who con in Oxfordshire later this month, but I'm on a couple of panels there and holding a workshop on how to write 'Who' for audio. If you're there, make sure you say hello.<< Sadly, no, that's too far and too expensive for me. Hopefully we might meet at another DW "do" sometime - I do try to get to a few of them. You weren't in Manchester with the BF guys on Sunday, were you? |

Fraid not, Caroline. I've only been writing 'Who' for a year and a half (not counting a short story a few years ago), and the Oxford bash is the first one I've been asked to speak at. More may follow, however. I'm not sure about proposed 7th Doc stories, but the Big Finish website should be able to tell you more. |

>>I'm not sure about proposed 7th Doc stories, but the Big Finish website should be able to tell you more.<< It was when I saw Andrew Cartmel at an event last year that he mentioned it. Perhaps it's still "in the pipeline", or maybe it's fallen by the wayside. Enjoy yourself with the Oxford gig! |

Thanks, Paul. I've tended to avoid Doctor Who forums up till now as I always think most people there will know far more than I do about DW and I won't be able to join in the conversations! |

There are a few smart alecs on there, Caroline, who love to show off their knowledge, as there are on all these fan message boards, plus one or two who can never let anything go if they feel slighted by something you've said. But my solution is simply to avoid being provocative (even if that sometimes means not airing my opinion). IMO, life's too short to get into endless online slanging matches, so I just use it to pick up interesting tidbits of information. |

Well said, Paul. I treat online chat as all a bit of fun and try not to take anything that is said too seriously or personally. Life is indeed too short and I see this kind of communication as an entertaining break from the daily grind i.e. the stuff that really matters. |
