Dear All, For those who are a little disheartened by the events of this evening, here's my take on things: http://bit.ly/ajTi0D (Based on no small part on Adam Boulton's famed outburst at Alastair Campbell here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gkHwU4DRA8 The real fun starts four minutes in...) |

I'm not actually too disheartened. I think the Lib-Con coalition, erm partnership, erm policy agreement, erm come and sit with me at cabinet, erm jobs for the boys, etc will soon result in them destroying each other. Like the old design and new design Daleks. Or perhaps like Manchester. (City and United). OK. Anyway, Natt, your You-Tube take on the matter was great. Loved it. Mark S. |

God, given this farce, I feel about a million times more in favour of good old fashioned socialism than I've done since 1979. Is that acceptable? I hope so. Mark S. |

That's absolutely acceptable. It's just a shame you won't find it within spitting distance of the Labour Party. I'm wishing a plague on all their houses. An actual, old-school, fourteenth-century, half the population of Europe-style plague... |

Could be worse, we could be living in Italy. I once asked an Italian friend of mine what on earth possessed the people to vote in Bela Lugosi...again...and she said, yes, he is truly awful, we understand what other nations think about him, but the alternative, the Italian Communist Party, she said made him the better of two evils...it's quite worrying to think he was the best of the bunch...makes our choices a little more easy on the eye, me thinks. And yes, the Bela Lugosi reference was intentional before anybody asks (: |

That reminds me of the Chomsky quotation (was it someone here who brought it up the other day?): "Choosing the lesser of two evils isn't a bad thing... You get less evil." |
