Eastwood is directing a supernatural thriller with Matt Damon called 'The Hereafter'. |

Not Clint's first brush with the supernatural. 'High Plains Drifter' is as much a classic "revenge from beyond the grave" ghost story as it is a western. Pity he had to remake it poorly as 'Pale Rider'... |

HPD is a classic, agreed. But Pale Rider isn't that bad. I think time has been rather kind to it. It's one of those Clint films which doesn't fare well critically, but on retrospection, obviously many years down the road, is actually a lot better than you remember. I feel the same way about Pale Rider now, as I do about 'The Rookie', another, at the time, disappointment from Clint. Looking at the daftness of 'The Rookie' now, I'm somewhat reminded of his Every Which Way But...movies. |

The Hereafter has the most amazing opening scene but then becomes so dull and ploddy, and worse, hokey. I couldn't buy a minute of it. Medium does it better. |

Clint Eastwood was in the news recently, btw, for a ghost sighting. Yes indeed. He was caught on video having an extended conversation with what witnesses have described as an "empty chair".... |
