Is this the Billie Whitelaw version, Ramsey? Terrifying indeed. I read once that Beckett insisted that even the fire exit lights were covered over in the theatre when this was performed, so that the only thing not in complete darkness was the actress's mouth. | ||

Jesus, that was fucking awesome - pure existential terror at its most paralysing. Imagine being sat in the audience, in the dark, watching that, listening to that - the intensity in that room! Fuck!! Miraculous indeed... my heart is still pounding. |
