For anyone who likes Joel's short stories, I've just noticed there is a copy of his first collection The Earth Wire on ABE for just under $30. It's a great collection, and very hard to find (I've only seen it on ABE once in the last decade, and I bought that copy). Hope this is useful for somebody. | ||

I can't order it until I get paid on Wednesday and top up my card... hope it's still there! If I manage to get that collection I can do the old chrono order thing with Joel - if you get my drift lol. | ||

Can't believe people are paying so much for it now. The book took ten years to sell its small print run. It's a beautifully produced volume. | ||

Some day, I hope those stories will be back in print. Can't currently say when or how, but discussions are taking place. I can quote one comment from a publisher: "Who gave you this number?" | ||

My signed copy of this was bought at the (1994?) London booklaunch (which was over a pub---was it the King & Queen in Fitrovia? Can't remember.) It was the first time I met Joel. Absolutely marvellous book: hope it does get a reprint. Mark S. |
