Just reread The Colorado Kid by Stephen King and think it might be up there with Picnic at Hanging Rock, be one of his better books of late. The mystery of it has been perhaps enhanced by the fact it seems based on a true story that happened in Australia in the fifties. Such a strange, niggling story, and yes, so mysterious.
I'm currently reading the book of Picnic and finding it very hard indeed to shake the film from my mind; it's hampering my enjoyment a lot, to be honest.

I bought and read the book then listened to the audiobook recently, the unabridged version. Second time was better. Like all the best books I feel a bit haunted by it. Hope you like.
