This is a bit of a long shot, you both had stories published in the same anthology as Bradley Michael Zerbe, have either of you ever been in contact with him ever? I'm wondering if he knows that his story was published in EG10 - considering that I know of at least 3 writers who were published without being told about it (including me) I think it's a fair bet he wasn't notified either.

If you know of a contact address or a third party who could pass a message on... please could you let me know.

Thanx

He doesn't ring a bell. Which anthology was this, Marc? What's EG10 - that isn't it, surely?

Ah, I just wrote the introduction to Read by Dawn 2. As for Ethereal Gazette - oh dear. Try searching for the editor's name and see what you learn. Your tale is praised here:

I've just emailed Adele - it turns out Bradley Zerbe's story was a reprint of his story from RBD2. Be interesting to hear what comes back. I'm starting to wonder how many of the authors actually got paid for their stories without having to ask first.

Where do I stand as regards sending that story out to another - better - publisher? Does Nick own the rights to my story? I don't have a contract with him but he did pay me $10 for it - but only after I'd emailed him to ask if he was using it and he told me it had already been printed (a month after publication).

Nope, I've never been in contact with him. But he's got a story in House of Horror (www.houseofhorror.org.uk/mining-with-the-devil/4536843672) - perhaps their editors can help you out ...

Good lord, this Pacione fellow ...

Maybe he deserves some sympathy – after all, it sounds like his stories were crimes of Pacione.

If there's no contract, he can't claim any rights beyond the use he has already made of it - that's my view, anyway.
