Just to let you know that I'm still lurking around the board - keeping an eye on what you're all up to - but I still don't have time to participate much at the moment. Busy with all sorts of things, both for work and fun. But you've got some great threads going which I'd love to have joined in on - particularly the "fantasy portmanteau films" thread. Some fantastic film ideas there which I'd *love* to see become a reality - if only! Anyway, I'll be back, as they say ... |

...and I've just started lurking! Hi people. Some of you might know me already as I occasionally post as Degsy over at the BFS forum. Things are a bit quiet over there at the moment and seeing that there's always a party going on over here at the RCMB I thought I'd pop over for a vol-au-vent and a glass of Asti Spumante. Derek |

Hi Derek - I think we've met at Pantechnicon too, haven't we, in the dim and distant past? And are you the same Derek John who penned the rather wonderful "Oblivion" in Null Immortalis? If I don't find time for anything else here soon, I really ought to find time to post something about Null Immortalis - I've just enjoyed the best read I've had in a long time (except to say that Where the Heart Is obviously runs it a close second - sorry Gary). Right, fellow RCMBers, I'm off to book my hotel now for FantasyCon ... |

Hi Caroline. You're quite right about Pantechnicon. I was a big fan and sorely lamented its premature demise. I'm glad you liked 'Oblivion'. It was my first attempt at a bit of Machen-esque mystical horror and I was chuffed to bits to see it published in such stellar company. |

Pantechnicon isn't completely dead you know. The lovely Stephen Theaker (I keep calling him "lovely" - I'm sure his good lady will be getting worried about this! ) published the last one back-to-back with his Theaker's Quarterly Fiction, and I'm currently working on the final one which will go out the same way in October. There's life in the old dog yet! (Pantechnicon I mean, not Stephen Theaker) |
