Anyone else see epi 1 of this new BBC scifi drama? Minor spoilers ahead. I thought it started pretty well, though I'm not sure I believe the crew's various infidelities would be much of an issue when you're trapped 2,000 feet down among the smokers, and some sub-aquatic abomination is lurking just overhead. That said, very keen to see ep 2. |

For a moment I thought the thread was as listed: "The Deep [ruddy-huge space my brain deleted for a split-second] Mick Curtis" Now before anyone starts thinking things, I consider that to be one of the most fascinating threads that's not yet been done. "The Deep [insert user's name here]" would be a wonderful series of threads which might allow us all to hear thoughtful and intelligent concepts or concerns which were close to the hearts of those who post to the.... What's that snoring sound? [deep preparatory breath] SNOGGING AND BEER! Ah, there we go... you're all paying attention now, aren't you? Sorry, Paul. Back to you again... |

Dive, dive, dive. Actually, yeah, I watched it. Strange show. Managed to be glum, interesting, boring and tense, and very silly all within an hour. So I shall try watch the next episode when it's on. Needed a bit of humour in it, though. (James Nesbitt's wig didn't count though did make him look like George Clooney's slightly retarded cousin.) |

I must admit, I'm getting a bit tired of seeing Jimmy Nesbitt do angry. It's all he seems to play at the moment, yet when he first came onto our screens his persona was warmth and affability. Of course, the irony of the Beeb starting to screen a 5-part drama in August is that I, probably like a few others, will miss at least two espisodes when I'm away on holiday. Autumn would have been better. |
