...is still alive, in case anyone was worried by the thread title! But he's interviewed today in the 'Guardian'. http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2010/aug/05/abel-ferrara-interview |

Brilliant director. I may be one of the few people who really likes his version of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers aka Bodysnatchers. The Funeral is a great film, too. In fact his resume is seriously impressive. Dangerous Game, unfortunately, I found deeply indulgent. Still, the man doesn't compromise, and that I cannot help but admire. |

I like him too. BAD LIEUTENANT and THE ADDICTION are dense, rewarding pieces. |

I just wish in Bodysnatchers that when she shot her dad he'd lay on the floor bleeding blood instead of melting. otherwise it was a brilliant film (except maybe for the attack of the killer pasta). There's..........no one............like............you..........left That scene alone is worth the cost of the film |

THE FUNERAL is a bizarre movie, with violence in it even *I* found disturbing, or maybe shocking is the word. For a long time you couldn't even find it on dvd, and... did it ever make it to dvd?... I'd like to see it again.... THE ADDICTION? Well, I don't think I've seen that one, I'll have to go find it then. |
