Just to let you know I'm taking pre-orders on Mary's first collection which will showcase the stories she wrote for The Fontana Book of Horror Stories, The Armada Ghost Book, Nightmares and last but not least, her adaptation that she did for Supernatural. There will be a brand new story written for the book and I'll be supplying an in-depth biography. The book will be limited to 150 hardback copies, will be signed by Mary and will be priced at £20. I want to get at least 50 pre-orders (though wont be taking any cash until the book is ready) before I commit to bringing the book out. Its high time that this highly influential editor,author and all round brilliant lady has her placed recognised amongst the greats of her day. Incidentally, she is also the great, great grand-daughter of Charles Dickens. I can't realistically afford it but wish you good luck, Johnny. I always enjoyed Mary Danby's stories and would single out; 'Woodman's Knot', 'Party Pieces', 'The Engelmayer Puppets' & 'The Witness' as amongst her best imo. | ||

NEWS: Over 100 pre-orders for the Danby collection. After some advice publication date is being pushed back to February as no-one really has any money in January. Mary's nearly finished writing her new story, the cover has nearly been done - all that's needed now is me to write a wee biography, and that'll be Noose and Gibbet's second book which will be signed by her and only £20. Gary, Copies wont be numbered - they will just be flat signed by Mary, the artist and possibly myself. There will be around 200 books printed. (If they were to be numbered the first lump of them would go to Mary and myself - which defeats the chance of people wanting a lower numbered book - I've never really seen the point in specifically numbering books) | ||

I suppose it's just a guarantee that only a fixed number were printed and signed. I also think, from experience, that buyers like to know exactly how many books they're buying one copy of. A limited copy of a 100-run book is logically more desirable than one of 500. Just a word to the wise. Might be worth deciding on a fixed number and writing something to this effect in the book: "This edition limited to 200 copies worldwide". | ||
