...the International Thriller Writers? I just got pointed at their site by an author and I never even knew they existed before now. Tom Picarilli is involved with them (and has won awards from them), but there may be some of you that I've not noticed the names of from quick-skimming the site. Perhaps you've heard of them from others?

They're a relatively new organization (since 1996, I think), formed by James Patterson. The first I heard of them came from this book:

which made something of a small-scale splash in the US. (I think a sequel has since appeared.) The book is a short-story antho, obviously, but I got the impression from Patterson's intro that the organization would focus on novelists.

Don't know any more than that, I'm afraid.
