The secretary of state for health is coming to visit NHS Salford soon. Although I've not been invited to the talk he's giving (only 70 staff selected at random have been invited) we have all been asked if we want to send in a question for him to answer... This was mine. People talk about a postcode lottery currently. That is with 152 organisations running the admin for the NHS. After these changes, the services performed by the 68,000 soon to be jobless staff of the PCT’s will still need to be performed. These will be subcontracted by the GP consortia to the lowest bidders. Therefore instead of 152 interlinked and dedicated state run organisations running the NHS, it will be run by 500 separate privately owned organisations subcontracting their admin to the lowest bidder. Surely this means that the postcode lottery will be even worse, as well as handing control of the NHS entirely into the hands of the private sector. In what way does the minister for health think that this is an improvement on the current situation? I wonder what reply I'll get | ||

He won't reply, not as such...he'll circumnavigate until Weber expires, and crumbles to dust. That's what politicians always do. That or he'll proposition him. Either sounds like a good bet to me. |
