Late night horror:Late Night Horror - 1968 TV Titles (Rare)
www.youtube.com
Wrap around title sequence given to a strand of horror plays, shown on BBCTV, between 19 April-24May 1968, sadly no longer in BBC archive. The creepy soundtrack was provided by the now defunct BBC Radiophonic Workshop. This clip was discovered on a VHS of one of their old showreels, hence the time...

My good friend/crime writer Paul Brazil discovered this and sent it to via FB me. Thought you chaps might know, remember or recall something about it.

Good Lord! Richard Davis was the story editor. Among the tales adapted were "Ringing the Changes" and "The Case of Lady Sannox". He approached me and others to contribute tales for a second series, but it was cancelled, and so he published the tales (and some others, I think) as Tandem Horror 2.

Ramsey - when you say 'good lord!', I know you mean 'good lord.'

Blast from the past, I believe. So, was there a first series? Was it any good? No chance of it being on DVD then?

Oh, for a new British anthology horror show...what I would give.

Well, yes, the first series included the Aickman and Doyle tales. As for availability, who knows...

This show was aired over here in 1969 or 1970. I remember they did Bradbury's "The Crowd" (very creepy) and a tale about a man insanely in love with a painting of a woman. Never seen it on dvd.

This is just my kind of thing. I don't remember it myself - 1967/68 was a bad time for me and I didn't do much telly watching - but I'd love to get my hands on a DVD of this.

They keep finding all sorts of previously 'lost' gems from the Beebs archives all the time. So fingers crossed. The old '68 '69 Hammer anthology series 'Journey to the Unknown' is another rarity I would love to get my hands on.
Also, does anyone know if the Boris karloff hosted 'Thriller' series is being released in the UK ? It's just recently been released in the States.
