Anyone coming to this this year? I've just had my ticket through the post today.

can't stay at the hotel this year but I don't live that far away - and it limits what I buy at the auction as well.

Not me, I'm afraid. I was getting it mixed up with Grimmfest and thinking it was the same weekend as the Halifax Ghost Story Festival, but it isn't, is it? But I've got a lot of other things going on in October so I can't really make it.

From what Lord P said to me at FCon, I believe he and his good Lady are going though. And Ramsey will be there, of course. Enjoy!

Probably not - I have a full dance card this next couple of months. I did want to go, though.

I'm looking forward to the Halifax Ghost Story Festival at the end of the month instead.

Well I had a jolly good time, imbibed far too much alcohol and found out more than I wanted to know about Simon Bestwick's taste in books at the auction - what was that book about classic 60's blow up dolls you bought again mr B?

I also had the distinct pleasure of making the aquaintance of Lord and Lady Probert. Which was nice...

All in all a really good weekend, I think I'm going to have to save up enough to stay at the hotel next year - three nights of not getting home till after 2am is not good for me any more.

I got a strange phone call from Mr Bestwick about that book on 60's blow up dolls on Saturday.

Apparently he ditched it at the festival but it was delivered to him in the post.

It must have been one of the festival organisers. Or it could be chasing you. It weren't me. honest guv.

Erm... not blow-up dolls, Weber. Don't make it worse than it is! It was a book on 60s Barbie-type dolls. And I only put a bid in out of charity, honest. Well, that and to stop the landlord impersonating the doll's voices, which was scarier than nearly anything I've ever read by him.

All the same, I'm sure I'll get put on some sort of register if I get caught with the bloody thing in public. I'd burn it... but even then it might come back.

Oh well. There's a story in this somewhere...

Simon, once glance at the photos in that book was enough to chill my blood, so I can only imagine the horror you must have felt when you opened the post to find those unnaturally wide-eyed plastic faces smiling up at you again and saying "We love you, Simon!"

Kate, they haven't started talking yet... but I fear it may only be a matter of time...

(This horror story is writing itself via the back-and-forth here. Who says the internet is bad for writing?)
