I made another trip to the upper tier of Haigh Hall in Wigan this morning, where I'll making my ghost night presentation next Easter as part of the Literature Festival for 2011.

It was fascinating to see local authority staff scared to death just because they had been required to escort me up there (hopefully that was saying more about the location than me, LOL). But seriously, it was like something off a movie. These girls were really jumpy, and I don't totally blame them. It's one ultra creepy place - so desolate and decrepit, and yet filled with decayed memorabilia from past centuries. Some of the stories I've now dug up about it and why it was abandoned are genuine hair-curlers. There's not much room for them here, but anyone who's interested can check 'em out in the usual place - paulfinch-writer.blogspot.com
