...or, 'The City that Dared to Fright'.

The following message is from David McWilliam:

The third Twisted Tales will take place between 6 and 8pm on Friday 28th January at Waterstone's Liverpool One. Tickets cost £2 each, are redeemable against any book purchased on the night, and enter you into a draw for four prizes- the top being a year's subscription to the excellent horror fiction magazine Black Static. This will be our second showcase for the magazine...

This time the event is accompanied by a wealth of online content, which is of interest to those who enjoy horror fiction. On the Twisted Tales blog you can find interviews with two of our readers, Alison Littlewood and Joel Lane:

I have interviewed our headline act, Conrad Williams, as part of my ongoing series of interviews with horror authors, editors, screenwriters and directors for The Gothic Imagination website. You can read the full interview, as well as download a free short story by Conrad, 'Slittern Gorge', here:

Comments and questions beneath each any/every one of the interviews will be appreciated.

Due to an illness with my adoptive gran, I may be back, and so able to attend. It'd be great to see everybody there.

Ha! I'm still trying to make this happen...almost three hours there by train not a problem but can't get back. I need a cheap hotel/B&B but I don't know Liverpool at all.

I'm in panto that night - playing the villain - or I would make the effort to get there. Good luck to all involved. Hope you scare your audience as much as I intend to scare the kids in mine...

Just go back from Liverpool. Great to see Ramsey, Jenny, Ali and Ferg, Simon Bestwick, Joel and Conrad. Really enjoyed the readings and we sang and danced in The Cavern until the early hours.

I should never list as I'm bound to miss someone out...Cate Gardner, Sharon Ring, Roy Gray and David McWilliam. These events are proving to be very popular!

Frank – you were missed.

For future reference no advance booking was required, and the tickets were quite cheap. Mind you for an hour of the likes of us nobody should be paying much.

Cheers to David for organising a terrific event. Well done to Alison and Conrad for subtly scaring the audience.

Though sadly no photos of Weber's turn as the baddie in Jack And The Beanstalk, which I ended up copping a load of the following night. 'Twas a weekend of high culture and no mistake...
