Dear All It's out, "Bloody War", my new novel from Eibonvale, of which I am exceedingly proud. Eibonvale - http://www.eibonvalepress.co.uk/ Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bloody-War-Terry-Grimwood/dp/1908125020 I can't seem to paste in the cover picture, which is frustrating. Regards Terry |

It's arrived, my first box full of "Bloody War", all pre-sold so I haven't even got my own freebie copy yet. And it is gorgeous, a real book with my name on the front! Eibonvale have done me proud. So roll up roll up, it is an essential read, it is a must, if you don't read it you're uncool, you're a square, you're not in daddy-o. Okay, okay, I'm a little overexcited at the moment. Cheers Terry |

This isn't just an excuse to bring the book back up to the top of the thread, I wouldn’t dream of doing such a thing. Just that I've heard from Douglas Thompson that the tower blocks used in the cover art, images from the notorious Red Road estate in Glasgow, are currently being demolished. now there’s irony, images of tower blocks that never existed but on day might exist, based on real tower blocks that once existed but no longer exist, and all with a week or so of the book coming out. Cheers Terry |

Terry, fascinating, thanks. There is an element of retrocausality there similar to what has happened to a building in Weirdtongue's front cover. |

I've just received an e-mail from my long-lost-and-recently-rediscovered-best-childhood-and adolescence-mate, Tim Reimenschneider (who know lives in Florida). He bought "Bloody War" and had this to say... "'Bloody War'...It's bloody great! I'm about halfway through and I'll probably finish it today. I can hardly put it down...I'm speachless (sic), I don't know what to say. So far, it's a great story, and very well written. You know, it reminds me of my favourite author, Robert Sheckly. An unassuming hero in contemporary times with a little twist. Of course, the twist being the bloody war. It's great, I can't wait to finish it. Can't wait to see the movie when it comes out!" Okay, so he is not a Reviewer, but he is a happy customer and I exerted no pressure on him whatsoever. The midnight CIA agents who told him that it would be a shame if anything were to happen to him, such as a nasty accident, just because he neglected to write an appropriately positive e-mail to an "old friend" were nothing to do with me, honest. So far, so good... |

I know this is blowing my on trumpet, shameless self-promotions and all the rest but "Bloody War" has garnered a fantastic five star, I could almot say rave review, from "Warpcore" at http://www.warpcoresf.co.uk/bloody-war.php. "This is one of the most powerful stories I've read in a long time...Bloody War is an important book, a timely warning about political complacency and the insidious erosion of our rights. And the ending, which brings the story's relevance to the real world into clear and startling focus, blew me away." I'm as chuffed as nuts. Cheers Terry |

Another review, this time in FutureFire (http://reviews.futurefire.net/2011/06/grimwood-bloody-war-2011.html). And what an intense, deep, thoughtful review it is. Genuinely critical and insightful (and I'm not just saying that because it is generaly favourable - although that helps of course). What a review should be. Take a look at FutureFire if you haven't already. There are some damn good reviews on there and it is a good place to send your books etc for review - http://futurefire.net/ Cheers Terry |
