Hi Thomas - enjoyed the blog. Would it be rude to ask how much you've spent on the book so far? (Okay, I know it's rude, but I'm interested anyway. ) I talked to Greg Hamerton for Dark Horizons 54, and he'd spent £5,000 on his book, The Riddler's Gift... |

Hey Stephen: Thanks for reading. Not rude at all, as everyone needs to know what they're getting into. So far, I've spent around US$4,000. Most of that went into design, and printing through Lightning Source. I went cheap on the editing and suffered for it (though not as bad as I feared). Thanks to the InterWires, marketing has been fairly cheap, but inefficient compared to what the Big Boys can do. Hope that helps! Thomas |

I should clarify--a good deal was spent in ordering copies for giveaway, sales and other distributions. The most--about $2,400-- went into the design and editing. |
