Is anyone else here going to Ramsey's "audience with .." at The Lass O'Gowrie in Manchester on Monday? I'm hoping to be there. Just wondering if I might bump into anyone else from here (besides Ramsey, of course).

I also see that there's a do at Waterstones, Manchester next month - Ramsey, Zed and a few others I can't recall at the moment. I probably can't make that one, but will try for this Monday.

(PS: Just back from my holidays. Has anyone missed me while I was gone? No? Oh well, never mind )

Sorry, who are you, Caroline? :-)

Did you enjoy John Cleese? I loved it.

Thanks, Des! Yes, we had a lovely trip to the West coast of Ireland - and it was sunny rather than raining all the time!

Gary - John Cleese was fab. But I was a bit poorly on the day and didn't stop to get his autograph afterwards. Great to see him in the flesh though. Loved it!

Weber - from my recollection it's a 5.30 start. I'll check later and let you know here as I've got to go and make tea now ...

Sorry, Weber, my mistake - it's a 6.30 start. From the site:

Pub Fiction Presents - Ramsey Campbell
When Mon, 18 July, 18:30 19:30
Where Salmon Room
Description Pub Fiction Presents RAMSEY CAMPBELL. An audience with celebrated horror author, Ramsey Campbell, recipient of more awards than any other writer in the field, including the Grand Master Award of the World Horror Convention, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Horror Writers Association and the Living Legend Award of the International Horror Guild. 5.00, Salmon Rooms. Tickets http://www.wegottickets.com/event/120942

I'm hoping I can get a ticket on the door.

Let me know if you're going, Weber. Er, what do you look like so that I might recognise you?

BTW I see that they have a lot of other interesting people there this week - Steve Gallagher, Bryan Talbot, Stephen Volk, and a few others I can't recall at the moment. If I don't manage to get there for Ramsey's event on Monday, I might try for another evening instead.

I think I can do that. If I get the bus to town after work, there shouldn't be a problem getting to the Lass o'Gowrie for 6:30. Hope there are tickets on the door.

What do I look like?
black leather jacket - shaved head, specs.

Hey, Weber - yes, I'm hoping for a ticket at the door too.

If I get there (which I'm really aiming to do), I'll have to talk to all the leather-clad young men to find out which one is you!

Me? Well, I gave you my description when you wrote me into your zombie story. Watch out for the mad cat lady!

Damn it! Not going to be able to go to this now. Sorry, Weber (and Ramsey)

It isn't my health this time, it's work. I've got a big job which must be finished by Friday and I'll be struggling to get it done if I take time out today. Gutted.

Hope everyone enjoys themselves. Don't forget the one at Waterstones, Deansgate next month too. I definitely can't make it to that one though.

Sadly, I'm not able to get to these weekday events because of work and the fact that I pick up my son from Fun Club every evening. Would love to have gone along, though...

Don't worry, Gary - nobody else from here did either. Pity - I gave the world premiere of a new tale.

Sorry I missed that, Ramsey. I wish more of these things would take place on weekends - I've missed some cracking events this year simply because they're on week nights.

I'll be seeing you in August, though, at our "Urban Horror" event in Manchester!

That's the one I was talking about at Waterstones, Weber. 'Fraid I can't make that one either.

Dammit, my secret's out. I'm really Weber's alter-ego.

Zed - I said "hello" to you at FCon last year. You know, the shy, middle-aged, plump lady with curly hair and glasses who spoke to you at the start (or was it at the end?) of your reading. I do exist, honest I do. I just can't seem to make it to any of your readings. You're making me feel guilty now ...

What's it called, Ramsey? And when/where do we get to see it?

It's "The Address", Pete, which will be in a chapbook from Sinister Grin Press to be released at Killercon.

Sounds good, Ramsey - wish I'd been able to hear it premiered in Manchester the other evening.

Another question for you - when and where is Killercon?

Ah, thanks! If I couldn't even make it to Manchester I think Las Vegas is beyond my reach at the moment. I'll look out for the chapbook though.
