Hi, Yesterday, we launched a new form of content for the Twisted Tales blog: with permission from Nick and Solaris we've published the first chapter from his forthcoming novel, Regicide. http://twistedtalesevents.blogspot.com/2011/08/regicide-by-nicholas-royle-previe w.html It'd be great if you could provide me with some feedback. Does this sort of preview interest you? Could it be improved in some way? It would be very helpful if you could post links to it on Twitter and Facebook. Best, David |

This is arguably Nicholas Royle's first out-and-out horror novel since Counterparts, and a substantial addition to the Solaris list. The preview is fine. Though personally I'd prefer a few blurbs, a few sample quotes from the text, an interview and/or some background info to a solitary chapter, which always makes me think of a ransom note accompanied by a body part. But if it helps attract readers, that's cool. |

Hi Joel, Thanks for the feedback. There will be an interview with Nick published before the Twisted Tales event he is doing on Friday 28th October, based around the Solaris House of Fear anthology. We're getting a poster designed before we officially launch it on our blog, but the details are: House of Fear: Haunted House Stories for Halloween Featuring readings by: Adam Nevill Lisa Tuttle Nicholas Royle Followed by a panel discussion, then Q&A and signing session. 6-8pm Friday 28th October Waterstone's Liverpool One Tickets £2 (redeemable against any horror bought on the night) Best, David |

Looks good to me, David. Joel, I don't get the Reggie Oliver question. |

After all those fiendish chapter titles in The Grin of the Dark, you can be forgiven for having such a temporary blindspot. |

I'm glad that people like the preview. If it generates lots of hits (which it has already started to) we'll be able to convince more authors and publishers to participate. |

I thought the old queen Elton John had thrown one tantrum too many and was about to pay the price... |

No, it's about the edge of a car's number plate. |
