I'm sure he won't be far away, Weber. I've noticed he takes time out from this (and other?) internet "meeting places" for a while sometimes.

But I miss him too. Hope you're OK, Tony.

I was just in discussion with him and Lady P on the subject of abortion earlier today, on FB. So he's still around; didn't he say he was taking a bit of time out from here after the discussion of the riots? Anyway... hope to see him back here soon.

Tony's fine and a lot more grounded in family reality than a lot of people on here.

We text each other all the time. He's been away at a folk festival having a ball and I'm sure he'll be deeply touched by you all missing him.

Like who? And how do you know? All you see of anyone here is white text on a black screen.

Tony's about as grounded as a jumbo jet, man.

I was puzzled by this, too. Not sure what being 'grounded in family reality' (whatever that is) has to do with anything...

A list, please, explaining what you mean by grounded in reality . . .

I've never understood this "taking time out from the board" business. It's silly.

Yes it is silly. I did it once.
But, yes, it is indeed silly. Hmmm.

You can't take time out anyway, Gary. You're "admin" - you need to be here to keep us all in order and stop us ripping each other to shreds every now and again.

Tony has recently taken his sons to Loch Ness, and snuck them into Urquhart Castle after dark, and then went off to the joys of an open-air folk festival. If that isn't being grounded in family reality, as well as being a wonderful father, I don't know what is.

Tony is my hero, so there!

Who said anything about his being a father?

This is all lost on me...what makes Tony more grounded in family reality than any other parent on here?

We recently spent a week camping in Ullswater, where we took our son on daily hikes in the hills, showed him the beautiful Lakeland vistas, and spent many happy hours doing family stuff. That doesn't make me any better a father than anyone else. Just a good dad, like any other good dad I know.

What's your point, Stevie? If you have one.

Yeah! Let's all punch the lists out of him!
