Alt-Dead anthology out from Hersham Horror. Fiction from Gary McMahon, Mark West, Steven Savile and Steve Lockley, Adrian Chamberlin and a whole host of other authors. Including a particularly talented writer called -- let's see, what was that name again? -- ah yes, Stuart Young. http://hershamhorrorbooks.webs.com/ourbooks.htm |

Review of Alt-dead at http://anthony-watson.blogspot.com/2011/09/alt-dead.html Anthony Watson describes it as "a strong collection and one that I'd recommend." More importantly he says my story -- which is obviously the only story anyone cares about -- is "an excellent piece of writing that brilliantly captures the frustrations of those having to deal with mental illness. It's a story about loss and grief for sure, but it's also about guilt. The ending is horrifying and heart-breaking." |

Mike Chinn gives Alt-Dead a nice review, doling out praise to all the stories. "Not a bad one amongst them – though I found Bacon's, McMahon's and Young’s the most affecting." No idea who these chaps Bacon and McMahon are but he's definitely right about Young. http://www.britishfantasysociety.co.uk/reviews/alt-dead-book-review/ |
